About

A painting, in my view, is different from a photograph in that a photo describes the subject, whereas a painting captures the subject as well as the artist and the quality of perception.

While I do enjoy creating large paintings occasionally, to me there is something special about a small painting – it’s as though a fleeting moment of perception frozen to represent eternity; or the vastness of space confined to the bounds of an imperfect wooden frame. It is like a raindrop, insignificant on its own, but evidence of an ocean infinitely greater.

There is nothing in particular I wish to say through my paintings. Rather, as the 13th century Persian poet, Rumi, would say:

Let the beauty we love be what we do;

There are hundreds of ways to kneel and kiss the ground.
